Professional Advisory Council
I am a M.Ac. and L.Ac. who believes that integrative medicine is the key to healthcare. I work with the Professional Advisory Council to bring Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) into the Council's integrative approach to education, health and healing. I am the current President of Han University of Traditional Medicine, and I have been practicing and teaching TCM for 30 years. I am the author of Voices of Qi - An Introductory Guide to Traditional Chinese Medicine and also a musician and composer.
I am a clinical nurse specialist engaged in cancer survivorship research and education of students and professional nurses. I believe in high quality supportive care for all cancer survivors using an intergrative approach to health and wellbeing. My experience in nursing practice, education, and research has led me to focus on the many facets of gero-oncology, comprehensive symptom management, and quality cancer survivorship care.
As both an oncology nurse and a long term cancer survivor, I have worked nationally to raise awareness about issues related to cancer survivorship and patient empowerment. For decades I have promoted the development of cancer-related resources along with access to them. But resources – local, regional and national - are only worthwhile if people know about them. Community Cancer Connections is filling a huge gap by collecting, organizing, vetting and marketing information that will be helpful to anyone who is dealing with cancer.
